Amundi Luxembourg: Making Private Markets More Accessible

Amundi Luxembourg, the private markets arm of Amundi, has been quietly reshaping how European investors access private equity and infrastructure. Part of Europe’s largest asset manager, which oversees more than €2 trillion in assets, the Luxembourg unit focuses on opening up private market opportunities to a much wider investor base under the ELTIF 2.0 rules.

What Sets Amundi Luxembourg Apart?

Amundi Luxembourg was established to give investors — not just institutions, but also qualified retail clients — a way into private equity, private debt and infrastructure strategies. The move became even more significant in 2023, when Amundi acquired Alpha Associates, a specialist in private markets. Together, the combined platform now manages about €20 billion across private markets, from venture capital and growth equity to infrastructure projects.

This scale allows Amundi Luxembourg to secure allocations that would otherwise be available only to large institutions, while the ELTIF framework makes it easier for smaller investors to take part.

Understanding the Funds AUM

The €25 million is the size of one specific fund — the Amundi Private Markets ELTIF (AMUNDI PRIMA) — which launched in 2024 as a retail-friendly product. The €20 billion, by contrast, refers to Amundi’s entire private markets platform, which includes a range of institutional strategies.

In short, the ELTIF is a small but important piece of a much larger platform.

Inside the Amundi Private Markets ELTIF

The Amundi Private Markets ELTIF has been designed with accessibility in mind.

Why does it matter? Traditionally, private markets required long lock-ups and minimum investments in the hundreds of thousands. ELTIF 2.0 has changed that, allowing for lower minimums and improved liquidity, while still giving investors exposure to institutional-quality deals.

The Bigger Picture

Amundi Luxembourg is positioning itself as a bridge between retail and institutional private market investing. By combining the scale of a €20 billion private markets platform with products like the ELTIF, it offers a rare mix of professional deal flow, diversification, and sustainability-focused strategies.
