Blue Owl Capital was created in 2021 when direct lender Owl Rock and GP-stakes specialist Dyal Capital combined and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Five years on it manages $319 billion — a five-fold increase since listing, according to co-chief executives Doug Ostrover and Marc Lipschultz — across three platforms: credit (direct lending and alternative credit), real assets (net-lease real estate and digital infrastructure) and GP strategic capital. Its non-traded BDC Blue Owl Credit Income Corp. is one of the largest private credit vehicles in the US wealth channel, and in 2026 became a test case for evergreen liquidity when redemption requests exceeded its 5% quarterly cap.
